Notes:CMP notes: Exhibited at 1867 Paris Expo; Exhibited at 1868 MI Fair; Exhibited at 1869 MI Fair. Watkins is distinguished by pairs of pictures made at the same location. Some of these were made in succession a few minutes or hours apart with some elements subtly changed (see cat. no. 103), while others, such as this, were made on a return visit and show great differences. In the present image the camera was several meters closer to the tree and positioned at a more upward-facing angle than it was in cat. no. 101, made about five years earlier.
